Trees, playgrounds, kitchen counters....all objects of affection for children. Why? Because climbing is innate. As we scramble to glorious heights we defy the shackles of gravity, feel the wind in our hair, and merge with our monkey-spirit. At some point, however, we start to settle for mundane methods of locomotion, like walking (ugh!)
But, a climbing renaissance is afoot (or ahand) and across the country climbing gyms and protected outdoor climbing destinations are rising to meet our need to ascend. Getting back into the swing of things may seem like a daunting proposition for atrophied muscles and stiff joints, so here's what I'll do.
