100 Push-ups (and 50 Pull-ups): Week 10

I think that I am beginning to understand why the official Hundredpushups.com program is limited to 8 weeks.  At this point, I have extended the program an additional two weeks and, as a result, the volume of pushups in each workout is now ~250-300.  There is a disturbance in the force that I think that I need to address.

There is some slight pain in my right shoulder and wrist and I think that if I don't take my foot off the gas I am going to hurt myself.  The idea of quitting altogether also arose for the first time during this past week, so my mind is also beginning to push back.

I'm committed to my goal of 100 push-ups though, and in the interest of getting there with my sanity (and without injury), I have decided to take a week off.  This will also give me time to focus on the Fiftypullups.com program.  Looking ahead to the next week, the repetition range will be into the 20's for the first time and I'll need my wits about me to punch through that barrier.
