Caveman Cuisine: Beef & Cabbage Soup

Healthy soup for you.

1/2 head green cabbage (chopped)
1/4 white onion (chopped)
1 medium carrot (sliced)
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
3 cloves garlic (chopped)
1lb grass-fed ground beef
1 can Glory low-sodium collard greens
Fresh ground black pepper
Pinch baking soda

Heat a soup/stock pot to medium heat.  Brown the beef and set aside.  Add olive oil, carrot, and onion and saute vegetables until soft (4-5 min).  Add garlic and saute for an additional 30-60s.  Add cabbage, beef, collard greens, black pepper, baking soda and enough water to cover ingredients by ~1in. 

Bring pot to boil and then reduce to simmer.  Allow to cook uncovered for 30-45 min.
