Only a week away from my 90-day goal, my wife told me that she had purchased Groupon for a local fitness center. She had been looking for a cheap place to work out and the deal was $20 for one month of unlimited sessions. "Cool," I said, "What kind of exercise class?" Her response was, "Something called 'Crossfit'."
Although she couldn't quite understand why I was so jacked up that I needed to rush home (we were literally getting out of the car to go out to dinner at the time) to purchase a pass for myself (before the Groupon expired at midnight of course), she indulged my eccentricity, and soon I too was signed up for my month of classes.
Two WODs (Workouts Of the Day) in and stoked as all hell, I'm completely sold on the CrossFit concept. After years of working in traditional fitness centers, the self-accountability, intensity, and competitiveness embodied by CrossFit are a perfect match for my personality.
Both objectively and subjectively, I'm in the best shape of my life, and I fully intend to be able to say that next year, the year after that, the year after that....
