Caveman Cuisine: Platanos con Chocolate


Green bananas gettin jiggy with pure chocolate and coconut oil.

Ingredients:

3 Plantains (green bananas)
1 tbsp butter
1/4 cup coconut oil
2oz Baker's unsweetened chocolate

Directions:

Step 1: Fried Green Bananas

Melt butter in a large frying pan and add sliced plantains.  Cook until plantains are soft and nicely browned.



Step 2: Double, Bubble, Toil and Trouble

If you have a double boiler, great. If not, put a Pyrex measuring cup into a small pot and fill with water so that the measuring cup is 1/2 submerged. Turn the heat to medium and add coconut oil and chopped up chocolate to the measuring cup.




Step 3: Dunk, Dunk, Dunk

Once the chocolate and coconut oil have melted, dunk your plantains into the mixture (only 2 or three at a time), and place the dunked plantains onto a baking sheet covered in wax paper. Put the plantains in the fridge for ~5 minutes. Then, dunk them again. Repeat this process until all the chocolate is used up. Put the plantains into the fridge one more time to harden completely.
