What's the deal with Paleo NOMZ?


"Nomz - Food or a meal. Ex. Dude i gotta get sum nomz."


A few months ago, I discovered the popular site ThisIsWhyYoureFat and found that, amongst some truly disastrous dietary abominations (the deep fried, peanut butter stuffed, Flatline Burger comes to mind) there were some real gems that didn't deserve the "This is why you're fat" designation.  For example, the Bacon Bouquet, the Narwhal, and the Meat Baby were lumped together with the Pretzi-roll, Deep Fried Pancakes, and Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding!

The current obesity crisis has come about during a time when people are eating less "fatty" meat and more "low fat" foods such as skim-milk, refined grains and high-fructose corn syrup.  The ludicrous "War on Fat" (see "Big Fat Lies") has been a complete failure, but in spite of this, the nutritional establishment, backed by public policy makers, continues to preach the same tired message. If this wasn't bad enough, efforts have begun to actively undermine the "radical" notion that human beings evolved eating plants and animals, and as such, thrive on such a diet (see "The Nutritional Establishment is Afraid of Paleo.")

To combat the idea that eating "just" plants and animals is boring, restrictive, or unsatisfying, I decided to create Paleo NOMZ as a way for people living the Paleo lifestyle to share all the delicious AND healthy foods that they eat every day. Whether you made at home or eaten at a restaurant, the only requirement for submission is that the food fits the Paleo template of minimally processed meats, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds.

It is often said that "A picture is worth 1,000 words", so instead of talking about how awesome it is to eat according to Paleo principles, lets simply show the world what we already know, that Paleo NOMZ are the bomb!

  3. All I know is eating "just plants and animals" had gotten me to lose stubborn weight I've been carrying around for a decade. Doctors say that weight is very hard to lose when you hit your 40's--I'm almost in my 50's, and it falls off every week, and faster when I quit eating fruit!

    There are a dizzying array of meats and veggies out there--you can make combinations until the cows come home. The smaller the selection, the better your choices.

  4. Great work Wenchypoo and thanks for sharing! The "average" person doesn't work out, eats the appropriately named SAD diet, and is over worked, over stressed, and over medicated. The "average", then, is far from optimal! Eating "just" meat and veggies is simple, effective, AND satisfying!
