Caveman Cuisine: Cashew Coconut Cream
So, I've tried the whole, "Don't eat before bed" thing and you know what? It doesn't work! (For me at least.) By the time I get home from a long days work (yes, working out with people all day is still work) I want to take a shower, change into comfortable clothes, flop on the couch, and (*GASP*) have a snack.
My goal, then, is to come up with some sort of snacking option that doesn't deep-six my desire for optimal health. This has led to all sorts of tinkering, but one option that I am particularly fond of is coconut oil, coconut butter and ...
In the past, I've mixed in cocoa powder and almond butter (Chocolate Coconut Oil) and even tried cocoa and lard (Choco-Lard), but this time I wanted to avoid the cocoa due to the caffeine content. The result was a sensual, but less stimulating, combination of coconut oil, coconut butter, cinnamon, and cashew butter.
I've been enjoying this immensely and have found that a rather small amount, eaten slowly (a small spoon helps), really kicks my night-time cravings to the curb.

Ingredients:
1 tbsp Coconut oil
1 tbsp Coconut butter
1 tsp Cashew butter
Cinnamon
Directions:
In a small cup or bowl, combine all ingredients and thoroughly mix until smooth.
Wow, my mouth is watering at the thought of this creamy delight. I will be trying this combination soon!
